Hayden Kosmerly

Hi, I’m Hayden and this is my beach project. My passion for volleyball has brought me to living in the heart of Kitsilano and spending almost all my time training and competing in tournaments like the Vancouver Open every year. I’ve trained with, and received coaching from Canada’s best beach athletes including; Ben Saxton and Grant O’Gorman. Previously, before I moved to Vancouver, I was the head coach of Sudbury’s Chill Beach Volleyball club and competed as a beach volleyball athlete on the Ontario Provincial team. I also spent 4 years playing Outside Hitter in the OCAA. Teaching the skills that I’ve learned and building relationships is my pride and joy. I look forward to working with everyone from all skill levels and continue to grow our amazing beach communities!

Ben Pike

Hey guys, my name is Ben. I am currently finishing my 5th year of university volleyball at Trinity Western and am excited to be back coaching with VS again this summer! I’ve played competitive indoor volleyball for 8 years now and hope to play professional volleyball in Europe after next year. I also play on the pro beach volleyball tour in BC and have competed at the Vancouver Open. I have a strong passion for volleyball and am excited to keep giving back to the beach community that has taught me so much over the years.

Bri Robinson

Bri brings over 15 years of experience as an elite athlete and more than a decade of volleyball coaching expertise. She began playing indoor volleyball at the age of 12, competing two age groups above her own despite being undersized. At 20, Bri discovered her true passion—beach volleyball. Leaving behind a professional soccer career, she represented New Brunswick in the 2013 Canada Games for beach volleyball. A serious back injury in 2014 shifted her path from competing internationally to coaching locally. Bri has since built an impressive coaching resumé where she helped coach the 2022 Canada Games Women’s Beach Volleyball Team NB, Thunder Beach Volleyball, Volleyball BC Beach, Richmond Oval High Performance, and PCVC. You can catch her competing in the Volleyball BC Beach Tour, eating pizza or soaking up the sun at the beach. Her favourite thing about beach volleyball is getting to compete without height restrictions and being able to laugh and smile while sharing these moments with a partner under the sun!

Michael Dowhaniuk

Hi my name is Mikey! I just finished 5 years at UBC and am continuing my volleyball career overseas to play professionally in the Netherlands. I have 3 years of Indoor National team experience and have qualified for u19 beach world championships before pursuing my indoor career. Now, I am excited to give back to the community by sharing my knowledge and expertise with aspiring players. I am passionate about the sport and committed to helping athletes of all levels improve their game. Join me, and let's take your game to the next level!
